In Earth's history there have always been conquests : roman conquests, colonisation, the Conquest of the West, etc? Now our planet is entirely colonised. Nevertheless today the Earth assuages no more human needs and dreams. The question that arouses is if space conquest is necessary.

It wouldn't be a conquest by the human, but by the earthy life: water, bacteria, etc Indeed the human needs a lot of scientific characteristics (oxygen, water, ) , which haven't been found in space yet. Equally important, the human person is may too much materialistic: especially in the Western civilization where materialism is the oldest philosophical tradition. [...]

The first human dream was to fly: the Montgolfier brothers made this dream come true. Then it was to catch the moon: on July 21st 1969 the American spaceman Neil Armstrong walked on the moon for the first time. [...]

We're in a period, during which there's a great shortage of energy, so it would be very useful if we could find a new energy source anywhere in space. Some research has already been held in vain on Mars . Nowadays space conquest isn't totally theoretical, we have already set up a commercial space conquest : via the International Star Registry it's possible to buy a star. A completely romantic idea, but how unusual it is : as much as the bright idea of the United States to set up a right to pollute (the States could buy the right to pollute to other states, which pollute less). [...] If our planet is threatened for example in its environment, we have to find earthy and concrete solutions to save humanity, instead of trying to base our future on any assumption, on any dream. It would be wrong to say that a space conquest will be soon possible. It's generally acknowledged that it's just science-fiction, I consider it as a crazy and in a way as a too optimistic point of view to believe that a space conquest would be our only solution to save humanity.
